Terms
Terms and conditions
These terms apply to every proposal and order from Mageirion. We keep them short and clear. Questions? Email us at [email protected]. This is a translation; if the texts differ, the Dutch version applies.
Version 2.1 · 28 October 2026
1. Who we are
Mageirion · [email protected]
2. When these terms apply
2.1 These terms apply to all proposals and orders from Mageirion.
2.2 Arrangements that differ from them apply only if we agreed them in writing (email included).
2.3 A business customer's purchasing or other terms do not apply unless we accept them in writing.
3. Request, proposal and order
3.1 A request through the website is not binding. Prices on the website are starting prices and estimates.
3.2 Within 1 working day we send a proposal with the final price (including VAT and delivery), the delivery time and the allergens per dish. The proposal is valid for 7 days, provided the date is still available.
3.3 The contract is formed as soon as you accept the proposal by email. We send these terms as a PDF with the proposal and with the confirmation.
3.4 Please order at least 48 hours ahead, hot buffets included. We cook for up to 40 people a day.
4. No right of withdrawal
4.1 An order is for perishable meals and catering on a fixed date. A consumer therefore has no statutory right of withdrawal (Dutch Civil Code art. 6:230p). You can still cancel under article 6.
5. Changes
5.1 You can change the number of people and the dishes free of charge up to 48 hours before delivery, except as set out in article 5.2. You can add people as long as we have room.
5.2 If the number of people goes down by more than 25% in total compared with the confirmation, that reduction counts as a partial cancellation: for the people you remove, the cancellation charges of article 6.1 apply, calculated on their share of the price.
5.3 If you reduce the number of people less than 48 hours before delivery, we charge for the number in the confirmation. Adding people less than 48 hours before delivery is possible only if we can still supply them.
6. Cancelling
6.1 Please cancel by email. What counts is the moment we receive your email, measured from the agreed delivery time. The charge is a percentage of the total price: more than 7 days (168 hours) before delivery: free of charge (you get any deposit back in full); 7 days or less but more than 72 hours before: 25%; 72 hours or less but more than 48 hours before: 50%; 48 hours or less before: 100%. So exactly 7 days before falls under 25%, exactly 72 hours before under 50% and exactly 48 hours before under 100%.
6.2 If we have to cancel because of force majeure (article 13), you get back everything you paid.
7. Prices and payment
7.1 For private customers, the prices in the proposal include VAT and delivery costs. Business customers also see the amounts excluding VAT on the invoice.
7.2 Private customers pay a 50% deposit after accepting the proposal. The balance is due within 7 days after delivery; we send you an invoice for it. We never ask for more than half in advance (Dutch Civil Code art. 7:26). You may choose to pay earlier.
7.3 Business customers pay no deposit; they pay on invoice after delivery, within 30 days of the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise.
7.4 If you pay late, we first send a free reminder with 14 days to pay. After that, statutory interest and collection costs may apply as set by law.
7.5 Please pay the deposit within 24 hours of our confirmation, and in any case before delivery. If it has not arrived by then, we send a reminder; if it still does not arrive, we may cancel the order and release the date.
8. Delivery
8.1 We deliver in Amsterdam and Amstelveen; elsewhere by arrangement. We deliver at the agreed time.
8.2 Please make sure someone is there to receive the food, and that there is room in the fridge for anything you heat yourself.
8.3 If we are significantly late, we will agree a fair price reduction with you. If nobody is there when we deliver, we call you. If delivery then fails for a reason on your side, you pay the price; we cannot keep perishable food.
8.4 From delivery, you are responsible for the food.
9. Food safety
9.1 We work to the Dutch hospitality hygiene code (Hygiënecode voor de Horeca).
9.2 After delivery, follow the storage and heating instructions: keep everything in the fridge (7 °C or below) until you heat it, heat until piping hot right through to the centre (at least 75 °C) and eat within 2 hours. A hot buffet arrives at 60 °C or above; eat it within 2 hours of delivery.
9.3 Heat the food once; do not keep leftovers and do not reheat them. We are not liable for the consequences of not following the instructions.
10. Allergies and diets
10.1 For each dish, including everything that always comes with the Greek table, we list which of the 14 major allergens it contains: on the website, in full in the proposal, and on paper with the delivery. Where a dish says ‘indicative’ or ‘to be confirmed’, you get the final list before we confirm your order; we do not confirm it before then.
10.2 Tell us about your guests' allergies and dietary needs before you accept the proposal. If anything changes after that, let us know as soon as possible.
10.3 All 14 major allergens are handled in our kitchen and at our producer, so we cannot rule out traces. We cannot guarantee gluten-free or halal food.
11. Equipment
11.1 Chafing dishes, platters and reusable trays remain ours. We collect them by arrangement. If something is lost or broken, we charge its replacement value.
12. Complaints
12.1 Please report a complaint as soon as possible, ideally on the day of delivery and with photos, by email to [email protected]. We reply within 2 working days.
12.2 For consumers the statutory rules also apply: a report within 2 months of discovery is always in time (Dutch Civil Code art. 7:23).
12.3 If we cannot resolve it together, a consumer can go to the competent court.
13. Force majeure
13.1 Force majeure means circumstances beyond our control, such as illness of our cooks, a supplier failing to deliver or delivering late, extreme weather, closed roads, outages or government measures. We let you know as soon as possible and offer another date, or refund everything you paid.
14. Liability
14.1 Our liability is limited to the amount of the order or, if higher, the amount our insurance pays out in that case.
14.2 This limit does not apply to intent or gross negligence, or to death or personal injury.
14.3 Business customers: we are not liable for indirect loss.
15. Privacy
15.1 We handle your details as described in our privacy statement.
16. Photos and reviews
16.1 We do not photograph guests without permission. We ask for a review only after a paid order.
17. Law and disputes
17.1 Dutch law applies to every order.
17.2 Disputes go to the Amsterdam District Court. However, a consumer may, within one month of our invoking this clause, choose the court that has jurisdiction by law instead.
18. Changes to these terms
18.1 New versions of these terms apply to new orders. Your order keeps the version that applied when you accepted the proposal.
